Mark Richey Woodworking and WallGoldfinger Furniture are storied names in the world of fine woodworking.

Our commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and client-focused service allow us to push the boundaries of what’s possible in woodworking.

Mark Richey Woodworking was founded with a vision to redefine craftsmanship in fine architectural woodwork and custom cabinetry. Mark Richey’s journey began as an apprentice to master harpsichord builder William Dowd, where he honed his skills under the highest standards of precision and artistry. Drawing on this foundation, he began crafting fine cabinetry in 1979, and by 1981, Mark Richey Woodworking officially opened its doors. Over the years, the company built a reputation for its meticulous attention to detail, unparalleled quality, and ability to tackle even the most complex design challenges with projects ranging from private residences to commercial spaces to iconic architectural landmarks.
Founded in 1971 in Vermont and later named for then partners John Wall and the late Michael Goldfinger, WallGoldfinger got its start making kitchen cabinets and custom furniture for local clients. Over time, the company expanded its focus, creating furniture for courthouses, universities, bars, and restaurants across the state. In 1984, WallGoldfinger made a significant leap into the corporate furniture market, spurred by winning the prestigious Daphne Award for excellence in manufacturing and design in 1980, as well as years of participation in the Rhinebeck Craft Fair in New York. The WallGoldfinger name has since become synonymous with innovation and excellence. Renowned nationally and globally, the company is celebrated for producing bespoke boardroom tables, custom furniture, and sustainable product lines. Specializing in handcrafted, eco-conscious designs, WallGoldfinger Furniture embodies an enduring commitment to impeccable craftsmanship and timeless design, creating pieces that inspire and endure.
In 2018, the WallGoldfinger brand joined Mark Richey Woodworking, continuing to lead the industry in design capability, technology integration and quality, with sales offices in Vermont and furniture manufacturing at the sustainable and high-tech Mark Richey Woodworking factory in coastal Newburyport.
Today, Mark Richey Woodworking employs a diverse workforce of highly skilled, dedicated craftspeople and construction specialists, many of whom have been with the company for decades. Throughout the years, the Mark Richey Woodworking team has been proud to work on some of the highest profile projects in the nation. The company's powerful union of artistry, design, and technical mastery allows it to offer a wider range of custom woodwork solutions, from precision architectural details and cabinetry, to one-of-a-kind furniture pieces.
