Apprenticeships and Training
Our Apprenticeship Program
The Mark Richey apprenticeship program is a comprehensive 18-month program that provides all the necessary personal attention and shop-taught skills modules to become an accomplished woodworker. It was designed to guide a newly hired employee with limited woodworking experience through all aspects of architectural woodworking including hand-tool use, machine operations, time management and all shop safety requirements. Upon graduation from the program, the woodworker will have attained a skill competence level comparable to five years of woodshop experience.

Mark Richey Woodworking is a green manufacturer, including utilizing biomass for heat.

Mark Richey Woodworking often hosts client tours of the 105,000-square-foot woodshop.

The expansive factory has state-of-the-art technology and a highly skilled workforce.
Training
Our company has a long history of providing ongoing training to our office and shop employees. Whether the instruction be in-house on the latest project management software, or outside at a course on veneering, we strive to help our people become the best-trained staff in the business.
We believe in the power of continuing education for all of our employees. Increasing our skills helps us keep our edge in the marketplace. Just as important, we gain self-respect and pride as we pursue our craft.
J-1 Visa Program
Mark Richey Woodworking welcomes talented woodworkers from outside the United States that participate in the 18-month J-1 Visa Program. We have hosted workers from Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Latvia and Peru.
We benefit from the fresh perspectives and methods our visitors bring: they in turn get to broaden their skills and outlook, and see how a US architectural woodwork business operates.
