Drafter/project engineer
Mark Richey Woodworking is a nationally acclaimed architectural millwork company and is one of the country’s greenest manufacturers. Our 105,000-square-foot shop is powered and heated by renewable energy. Our services include monumental custom work for corporate, institutional, retail, restaurant, and residential clients.
We are seeking a skilled, deadline driven drafter to join our busy engineering team.
Requirements and Qualifications
Responsibilities and Expectations
- Use architectural drawings, specifications, and supplemental information to determine design intent and translate it into a buildable set of shop drawings including material and hardware information
- Track multiple jobs in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on submittal and production schedules
- Provide regular updates of your progress that include estimates to complete tasks
- Master Mark Richey Woodworking CAD standards, manufacturing methods, AutoCAD 2024, Autodesk Inventor 2025, Autodesk Vault 2025, Microvellum Foundation Library, and drawing layout, layering and blocks
- Suggest workable solutions to engineering issues
- Communicate with project managers and job captains regarding fabrication details
- Stay current with MRW fabrication standards to ensure drawings reflect latest methods - “draw it how we build it”
- Submit drawings to architects and general contractors for approval
- Correct returned “redlines” as directed by project engineering manager and project managers
- Prepare drawings and Microvellum products for construction
- Respond to shop floor questions and requests for more information and provide full scale plots for fabrication
- Issue revisions to approved drawings
