Exterior
Boston City Hall Plaza

The addition of public benches has transformed what was once a stark and uninviting plaza into a vibrant and welcoming public space. These benches not only provide a place for rest but also encourage social interaction and community engagement.
The benches, designed with durability and timeless appeal, are crafted to withstand the test of time, ensuring they remain a fixture of the plaza for decades to come.

Public Space Challenge:
Boston City Hall serves as a central hub for the city, and we knew the importance of creating durable exterior benches that would last for decades. Collaborating closely with Shawmut Construction and Sasaki, we achieved an outstanding result!

Redemption: The “World’s Ugliest Building” Just Won a Major Architecture Award

This renovation will turn our seven-acre space into a welcoming, accessible space for all, featuring new civic spaces for events to areas for families to enjoy together. Creating a new People's Plaza will help us achieve our goals of making one of Boston's most-used public spaces better for all residents.
